Terms of service
These terms cover the hosted SQZ Atlas connector at connect.sqzatlas.com, which lets an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude reach the conversation vault on your own computer. The programs themselves are covered by the licence. Last updated 1 October 2026.
The connector is a preview. It is free, comes without a service-level promise, and may change or stop. Keep another copy of anything you can't afford to lose.
Who provides it#
The connector is run by Iikka Amos Isosaari, a sole trader in Finland, business ID FI31038263. Contact: hello@hanki.tools. In these terms "we" means that person.
What the service is#
The connector is a small relay. It passes requests from your AI assistant to the SQZ Backup app on your computer and passes the answers back. Your conversations and files are stored encrypted on your own computer, or in the storage you chose, not on the relay. The Privacy page says exactly what the relay sees and keeps.
Who can use it#
- You must be old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live, or have a parent or guardian do it for you.
- The connector is free for personal and other non-commercial use, on the same terms as the programs. Using it for a business needs a commercial licence: email hello@hanki.tools.
- You need a computer that runs SQZ Backup, and that computer has to be on and connected for the tools to work. When it is off, the assistant is told your vault computer is offline.
What you agree to#
- Save only what you may save. Only ask the assistant to save conversations and files you have the right to keep. You are responsible for what you save.
- Treat saved content as untrusted. Text read back from your vault is content you or someone else wrote. It can contain instructions that your assistant should not follow.
- Keep your credentials safe. Never share your vault password, recovery key or pairing code. Pairing codes are for one use and are shown only in the app. We cannot recover a lost password or recovery key, and without them nobody can read the vault.
- No abuse. Don't try to break, overload or probe the service, get around its limits, use it to store or send unlawful material or malware, or use it to reach a vault that isn't yours.
- Demo vault. The sample vault offered to reviewers holds invented data only. Don't put real information in it. It is shared, capped and reset when the service restarts.
Availability and changes#
We run a single relay and don't promise it will always be available, fast or free of errors. We may change, limit, pause or end the connector, for example to close new sign-ups or to stop abuse, and we may change these terms. When these terms change, the new version appears on this page with a new date, and using the connector after that means you accept it. If we end the connector, your vault stays on your computer and keeps working with the app.
Suspension and ending#
We may block an installation that breaks these terms or puts the service at risk. You can stop at any time by choosing Disconnect in the app, which revokes the assistant's access. To have your installation record removed as well, email us from the address you used or with the installation ID shown in the app.
No warranty and limits on our responsibility#
The connector and the programs come as is, without any promise that they will meet your needs or never lose or expose data. Back up what matters. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for lost data, lost saved conversations, or any indirect or consequential damage from using or being unable to use the connector. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that can't be waived, including consumer rights where they apply, or liability that can't be limited by law.
AI assistants and other services#
The assistants that connect to the vault, such as ChatGPT and Claude, are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies. We don't control what they do with the text they receive from your vault once you ask them to read it.
Law and disputes#
These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Disputes go to the courts of Finland, unless mandatory consumer rules give you the right to use the courts where you live. Please write to hello@hanki.tools first and we will try to sort it out.
